Soleil Away:

The Start

A New Year Retreat at the Sanderling Resort

Hosted by Soleil Studio

Welcome the new year slowly, intentionally and in the serenity of the coastal Outer Banks.

Join Soleil Studio for the first Soleil Away, a retreat series designed to create space for movement, rest and community. Set against the quiet winter coastline of the Outer Banks, this long weekend invites you into a softer start to the year ahead.

Over four days, we’ll gather for yoga, sculpt, meditation, beach walks, shared meals, fireside chats and time to simply be. Whether you come with friends or on your own, Soleil Away is designed to bring the energy of our home studio to an experience equal parts retreat, celebration and coastal reset.

This experience is intentionally balanced between group programming and spacious free time. Mornings begin with optional sunrise meditation and movement. Afternoons are for spa visits, beach walks, shopping in Duck, journaling or simply resting. Evenings bring community dinners, music, connection and celebration. Classes will overlook the beautiful Currituck Sound and beach walks and meditation await you near the Atlantic Ocean.

The Sanderling Resort

Located in the charming coastal town of Duck, North Carolina, Sanderling Resort offers a refined yet relaxed Outer Banks experience tucked between the Atlantic Ocean and the Currituck Sound.

Known for its serene beachfront setting, award winning accommodations and elevated coastal design, the Sanderling will be our home for this cozy winter retreat. FAQs

Where is the Sanderling, and how long does it take to get there?

1

The Sanderling Resort is located at 1461 Duck Rd, Duck, NC 27949. It’s about a four and half hour drive from Lewes.

Can I bring a friend from out of town?

2

Yes! However, the retreat is reserved for Soleil members and students and their guests only. The retreat is not open for public registration. Attendees bringing a guest not participating in the retreat (spouse, significant other) are welcome and can join dinners and the horse tour for an additional guest fee.

What is the weather like in Duck in January?

3

The weather is a lot like home on the Outer Banks in January. Average temperatures in Duck during early January range from the upper 40s to upper 50s. Think cozy coastal winter: Sweatshirts after yoga, bundled beach walks, fire pits at night. Though just like Lewes, Duck has been known to have mild weather in January as well.
